Dream Reef Cinema is a Nature & Wildlife Cinematography Company that produces Environmental Documentaries, Resort Videos, and Commercial Branding Content. We are a team of filmmakers and photographers located in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Tampa Bay Area but we are available for worldwide travel.
First and foremost we are die-hard filmmakers always searching for that epic shot that ignites our creative spirit. Secondly, we are environmentalists and wildlife conservationists that love scuba diving and exploring the underwater world. We donate a portion of our annual proceeds to ocean conservation efforts and support all causes related to protecting Mother Earth so by hiring us, you are saving the planet, helping wildlife, and the future of the human race! Projects that we donate to focus on securing marine protected areas, coral reef restoration, shark fin bans, and the war on plastic.
Dream Reef was born inside the heart and mind of owner Wilson McCourtney. After traveling the world to go scuba diving with his wife Silvana, he would return to the states and day dream about being back on the reef with the enchanting marine life. Dream Reef represents that feeling of absolute bliss and gratitude you experience after a once in a lifetime encounter with wildlife or a powerful moment spent in nature that will forever alter you as a human being.
Inspired by environmental filmmakers and activists such as Louie Psihoyos (Racing Extinction & The Cove), Rob Stewart (Shark Water & Revolution), Sylvia Earle (Mission Blue), Sir David Attenborough (BBC Planet Earth & Blue Planet) and Eugenie Clark (Mote Marine Laboratory), Wilson was determined to utilize his creative talent for positive change by launching a production company that would celebrate the natural world, save animals, and protect the place where he feels the most alive – The Ocean.
